MARIE E. BAST has been writing since 1996. After retiring from the federal government (working for the Dept. of the Army supplying the troops in the field), she began writing full time. She is a Publishers Weekly Bestselling Author of The Amish Marriage Bargain, The Amish Baker, and The Amish Baker's Rival. The Amish Baker's Rival was also a 2021 Finalist in the Mid-American Romance Authors' The Carla Contest, and The Amish Baker was a 2020 Book Buyers Best Contest Finalist, and The Perfect Client was a 2015 First-place winner in the Ignite the Flame Contest. 

Marie has published short stories and poetry in several book compilations to include Chicken Soup for the Soul: My Very Good, Very Bad Dog; and Writing so Heaven Will Be Different. She has devotionals published in The Cup Of Salvation: 8 ounces of Jesus, a Lenten Devotional and The Upper Room. Other published work has appeared in: The Writer magazine, SEEK, newspaper, church bulletins, Sunday school curriculum, pamphlets, and numerous book reviews. She is a member of: The Society of Children Book Writers and Illustrators, Romance Writers of America where she is a Honor Roll Member, and American Christian Fiction Writers.

She holds a B.A., an M.B.A., and an M.A. in General Theology. She lives in Illinois with her husband of thirty years. When she's not writing, she's walking, golfing, gardening, or spending time with her two sons and their families. She loves to bake and enjoys her homemade rolls and bread way too much.
